Tarkhan Skullkiller on Ulule, reward options

Published by Suisei at 22/07/2019 à 15h45

Hi everybody!

The list of illustrations that you can choose if you have chosen a reward with prints during the Ulule campaign for our comic book Tarkhan Skullkiller is updated ! :D

Here is the complete list of illustrations you can choose from. Of course, the smiley will not be part of the print if you choose Tarkhan in the river. x)

Therefore, we will very quickly send you a form where you can indicate the options you want for your reward (choice of illustration for prints, choice of character for sketch in the book and commissions).

Other project owners on Ulule have informed us that Ulule news does not always reach the contributors' mailboxes, so to be sure that everyone receives this form, we will send it directly by email, without using Ulule's services.

Also note that 5 people won an additional A4 poster in a small random game (on which we miscommunicated, we are sorry for this clumsiness ^^' ) and that we will ask the winners to choose an additional illustration among the 6 proposed for this poster.

That's all for today!
Have a nice day and see you soon! :D

Tarkhan Skulkiller, Final storyboard finished!

Published by Suisei at 20/07/2019 à 16h10

Hi everybody!

I come to say hello and keep you informed of the progress of the comic book Tarkhan Skullkiller.

I just finished what I call the final storyboard! =D
We now know that the comic itself will be exactly 67 pages long.

I took the opportunity to update the progress bars on the Ulule page and I added them also on the pages Tipeee and Patreon.

What I call final storyboard is a version of the storyboard where I draw the final composition of the pages and panels with the final poses of the characters.
The idea is to save me time at the final pencil step where I will only have to put it on a tracing paper placed on this final storyboard.
I'll show you more details next time.

That's all for today!
I'll get back to my pencils and wish you a nice day! :D

Comic artist for rent, new comic book

Published by Suisei at 10/07/2019 à 15h45

Hi everyone!

Today, I come to announce that I have released a new comic book (in addition to Tarkhan scheduled for September)!

It is called Dessinatrice à louer (Comic artist for a rent) and humorously tells anecdotes that I have experienced or witnessed as a young comic artist, all wrapped in the cutest visual style in the world!

I placed the action within a convention but I experienced or witnessed the anecdotes I mentioned online or in other IRL meetings.
As the cover shows, amateur writers take much in their faces. :p
But they are not the only ones.
We also find plagiarists and clumsy comments from the public or friends (I still like you guys :p).

I had been making a list of anecdotes for a year and a half to make this comic book and I made the 40 pages in about ten big days during the super heat wave we recently experienced.

The french version of the comic book is already available on the store, here, with my other comic books.
Some extracts will be published free online and the entirety will be published little by little exclusively for patrons on Tipeee and Patreon.

Speaking of Tipeee and Patreon, I will redesign these two pages during the summer, between two pages of Tarkhan, and simplify their rewards.

I also made a lot of new holocards all pretty, all shiny, here is a sample. They are also available on the store.

That's all for today.
Now I'm going back to work on the pages of Tarkhan.

Have a nice day and see you soon!

Japan Expo 2019 already over!

Published by Suisei at 06/07/2019 à 15h45

Hi everyone!

Today, I am writing this news to announce that Japan Expo 2019 is already over for me.
And yes, I definitely tidied up my booth last evening (Friday).

I would like to thank Copic France for recruiting me for Thursday to do drawing demonstration with Copic alcohol pens. It's always a very nice experience and it allowed me to finalize the reimbursement of my own booth as well as to meet Japanese Copic representatives. :D
I also thank the few irreducible faithful readers who came to the Fantaisisterie booth, appreciating and buying a small piece of my art. It's always nice to know that you can make people dream a little and have a good time with your drawings and stories. =)

Unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer curious people at Japan Expo, and yesterday we spent most of the day twiddling our thumbs in the heat.
So, the revenue was much too low compared to the efforts made and I thought it was not worth staying and that it would be better if I spent my time on the Tarkhan comic book that you supported.

So I tidied up my booth and left to never set foot again in this 2019 JE.

Understand that when your work is recognized by professionals, but it is despised as if it were kid work in geek conventions (I'm sure my old kid Dragon Ball fanarts from 20 years ago would sell better than my original pro work in these conventions) and that next door you sell 5 to 10 times more in half the time and with 100 times fewer visitors in comic conventions, you quickly understood where to put your eggs and where not.

I also think that the visitors of geek conventions change over the years. I sold more comics and was asked for more commissions 3 years ago when my work was less visible, badly highlighted on a quarter of a booth.

Therefore, I definitely decide not to take a booth at Japan Expo or any other geek conventions unless invited and paid for and I will focus only on comic book conventions.
If you really like my work, I have no doubt that you will come and visit me in these conventions or that you will order via my online shop. ^^

In the meantime, the Fantaisisterie booth is still there, it's not empty, my friend Steven Style is still there and has his manga Section 9 to offer you.
So if you are at the JE this weekend, don't hesitate to come and see him and support him! :)

Have a nice weekend and see you soon!

Japan Expo 2019

Published by Suisei at 26/06/2019 à 15h45

Hi everyone!

Time flies! Very, very, very quickly!

I'm making you a flash news between 2 comic pages to announce that I will be at Japan Expo with my friend Steven Style. You can still support his comic book on Ulule.

This time, I will not be on the usual stand on Thursday.
Indeed, for the first day of the JE, I will be demonstrating art equipment on the Copic France stand (D186 hall 5).
During the rest of the festival, I will be on our stand, La Fantaisisterie (C213 hall 5).

Everything is indicated in the plan.

I should have some new content to present to you, but as I'm drowning in work, I'll tell you about it later. :p

In the meantime, I'll get back to my boards and wish you a nice day despite the heat.

See you soon!

End of the Ulule campaign! Thank you all! =D

Published by Suisei at 17/06/2019 à 15h45

Hi everyone!

The Ulule campaign is FINISHED and the printing of the comic book Tarkhan Skullkiller is FUNDED!

CHAMPAGNE! \o/

And all this is thanks to you, dear contributors! =D

We will finally be able to ease off on the promotion of the comic book. x) But there is still a lot of work to be done.

Here is how things will work in the coming weeks and months.

We have just set up at the top of the Ulule project presentation page a small system of progress bars that are regularly updated to allow you to quickly consult the progress of the comic book.
Like this.

To ask questions, if necessary, and follow the progress of the project as closely as possible, we remind you that the Suisei Discord Server is open.

The week ahead looks pretty busy.

Suisei is in the process of completing the illustrations that you can choose if you have taken a reward containing a print. There are still two more to finish. This should be ready for the beginning of the week.

Here is one of the new visuals you can choose from. A little Meg'Chamel in watercolour made for the 60th birthday of Suisei's little mother! :D

Then we will send to all contributors a short form so that they can tell us how they want to be delivered (by post or at an IRL meeting) and their choice of options for rewards (print visual, dedication or illustration character) and one or two other pragmatic information.

We will also offer you a new live session on Twitch to thank you for all your support next Thursday at 6:30PM. =)

The rest of the week, Suisei will focus on the final preparations for Japan Expo, because, yes, Suisei will be present at Japan Expo. She will send you a news to give you all the details about this, including the new products she will have to offer you.

Then, starting next week, Suisei will work hard on the realization of the remaining pages of the comic book and on nothing else until the end of August while giving you regular updates on the progress. Note that she will probably be out of reach for a fortnight during the summer. (For this too you will be warned.)

We will probably do other lives on Twitch during the summer to liven up the production phase a bit, because it's still fun. :)

At the beginning of September, Suisei will finalize the lettering and send the final pdf file to the printer.

And at the end of September, finally, the rewards will de delivered and we will be able to meet again at Normandiebulle ! =D

So that's it for this rather busy schedule.

So we go back to work and we thank you again for believing in us and in this project. It warms our hearts and motivates us to do our best to deliver you a quality comic book. :D
In the meantime, we wish you a pleasant day and see you Thursday on Twitch ! :D

Tarkhan Skullkiller, Ulule has exceeded 100%!

Published by Suisei at 13/06/2019 à 15h45

Thank you all!

Hi everyone!

We are happy and proud to announce that our Ulule campaign to print our comic book Tarkhan Skullkiller has exceeded 100%!!! =D

Now we are sure, the comic book Tarkhan Skullkiller will come out, and you, dear contributors thanks to whom it was possible, you will receive it in your hands! =D

We thank you all very much! \o/

For those who are late, know that you still have until Saturday evening to pre-order the comic book and receive it at home once it is ready. :p

We will send another news just after the end of the campaign to give you details about the next steps. We announce already that we must postpone the delivery of the rewards to September, during the festival Normandiebulle to finish everything under the best conditions and give you a quality product ! :)
Indeed, we were aiming for Japan Expo if there were no unforeseen events (with September as a backup deadline), but the campaign having started very slowly and we had to transfer all our efforts in communication instead of working on the comic pages.
As a result, we will finish all the work for the second deadline, for your return from your summer vacation. :p

About the newsletter

More technical subject.
I noticed that the newsletter of suiseipark.com no longer reaches a certain number of subscribers. It was either sent in spam or not delivered at all.
Your email services don't know my small site and I can't bribe them to appear in their white lists (unlike some big unscrupulous brands), so they tend to be suspicious of my website mails.
So I made a fix so that the newsletter would be sent to you by my Gmail address (at least they know Gmail) rather than by a suiseipark.com address. A priori, the newsletter should reach you better like this.

Just in case, I ask you to put the Gmail address in your contact list when you receive this news.

That's all for today!
Have a nice day and see you soon! :D
